"As an artist with over thirty years of experience rendering the natural world, I have always believed that art possesses a unique ability to bridge the gap between human emotion and environmental responsibility. Working with soft pastels and pastel pencils on Clairefontaine Pastelmat, I build intricate, velvety layers of texture to honor the quiet majesty, anatomical precision, and deep intelligence of the animal kingdom.

My work explores the profound concept of interconnectedness within our global ecosystem. By capturing the expressive depth of an animal's eyes I aim to create narratives of harmony, curiosity, and mutual respect. These compositions serve as a visual reminder that in the wild, the survival of the largest, most iconic mammals is intrinsically linked to the health of the smallest species sharing their habitat. Every creature, no matter its scale, holds an essential place in the fragile balance of nature.

My dedication to these animals extends far beyond the physical edges of my easel. Balancing a rewarding 29-year career as an art educator with a rigorous studio practice, I translate my creative discipline into a tool for environmental awareness. To directly support the species that inspire my artwork, I proudly donate 5% of all art sales to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Through my role as an Associate Member of Artists for Conservation, it is my ultimate hope that my portfolio inspires viewers to pause, look closer, connect deeply, and join in the vital mission to protect our planet's most vulnerable wildlife."
